Gurgaon canal off taking from Okhla Head works at Yamuna River near Delhi. From 0 to 16.0 km length it is known as feeder channel, then in the length 51.20 km. it is named as Gurgaon canal. After that up to Rajasthan border it is known as Rajasthan link 21.461 km) and finally from Rajasthan border its name as Gurgaon Main Canal (GMC). Existing GMC system has been constructed for 500 cusecs discharge.
Actual Services provided by the Firm
1. Preparation of survey sheets in scale of 1 : 15000 with following details for the complete CCA of 34000ha as per enclosed base map. • All natural features such as rivers, nallah, forest, reservoir etc. • All man made features such as settlements, roads, electric and telephone lines, cluster of village buildings etc. • Contour at an interval of 0.5m in the plain area and at an interval of 2.5m at hilly location and at those patches where the levels are too steep. Contouring on digitized Sajra sheets with contour interval of 1.0m • The survey is carried out with the Total Station survey instrument, preparation of sheets by connecting the survey with the nearest GTS bench marks so that whole of the work may be integrated to other schemes. 2. Collection, scanning and digitization of the revenue maps for the complete CCA of 34000ha and superimposition of contour over the revenue maps. 3. Detailed planning, designing, estimation of main canals and including identification and marking of all types of structures on main canals. The work also includes designing and estimation of 10% structures on main canals. 4. After preparation of survey sheets on the scale of 1 : 15000 marking of canal alignment for distributaries, minors and sub-minors on the survey and revenue sheets and calculation of the area to be served by each distributaries, minors and sub-minors etc. upto the outlet point. Detailed survey for final L-sections and cross sections for main canals. 5. To access the cost per ha of distribution, drainage and water courses detailed survey of distribution system in 10% command area complete in all respect including marking of chak boundaries in two patches, as suggested by Executive Engineer in charge. Preparation of sheets of command area in scale of 1 : 4000 with contour interval of 0.30m complete in all respect including planning, designing and estimation of distribution system including structures. 6. Preparation of Index Map to a scale of 1 : 50000 with the following details: • All natural features such as rivers, nallah, forest, reservoir etc. • All man made features such as settlements, roads, electric and telephone lines, cluster of village buildings etc. 7. Detail micro planning for 1000 ha area approx. to assess per ha rate for water courses the work includes marking of chak boundaries, water courses and field channels. The work includes: • Additional survey work by taking levels of each field on all four corners and middle of field. • Preparation of sheets on a scale of 1 : 1000 with contour interval of 0.10m • Planning, designing and estimation of water course including structures. 8. Marking, transferring the approved, canal alignment on the survey sheets and Sajara sheets. 9. Construction of pucca bench mark at various locations in the command area. 10. Marking of canal alignment for main canal, distributaries, minors and sub-minors on the survey and revenue sheets and calculations of area to be served by each distributaries, minors and sub-minors etc. upto the outlet point.
